From our previous article on oDesk we emphasized that oDesk has two types of job kinds ---- Hourly & Fixed Price.
How am I paid?
The Hourly job is paid per hour and what you are paid per hour is determined by you (we will come back to this later). The fixed price job on the other hand is not paid by hour it is paid based on negotiations between your client and you. The payment period could be hours, days, weeks or even years as the case may be.
What to do after signing up to oDesk
Take Tests
After signing up to oDesk, it is recommended that you take skills test - these test are meant to prove your skills in your professed profession. They help your clients rate you and determine whether you are competent for the job or not. Take as many as possible. The more tests you take the better. But note something before taking a test, make sure you are really prepared for it. Make sure you have read the necessary materials needed.
Add your portfolio
Your portfolio is a nice place on your oDesk profile to display your portfolio -- this is the work or things you have done or written. For instance, if you are a graphics designer and you have designed logos in your portfolio. This increases your percentage of been hired for every application you submit.

It is like mind revolution. The old way of earning salary by working in a physical office to earning salary online. This is the way to go in 21st century, especially when there is 'technological boom'. Odesk is a good way to earn money.
You are right bro. This is the future of business. No wonder it is the largest online work place in the world. I'm so loving it. The amazing thing is that you can charge about anything per hour. For instance, you can charge about $1,000 per hour of work. This seems so incredible but it is 100% true.

Well I must confess, this is one great piece. I have signed up on Odesk and have had some contacts. Maybe my price status wasn't encouraging. Fiverr has been a bit successful for me but Odesk from vie looks more professional. I think I would need to re-strategize on my approach and start leveraging on this site.
